The project involved the comprehensive architectural and functional renovation of the outdoor swimming pool complex. The existing facilities, which had become architecturally and functionally outdated, were replaced with a contemporary and programme-diverse design. The existing 50 × 18 m pool was removed and replaced with a new 50 × 25 m Olympic-size swimming pool. It is complemented by a 15 × 20 m medium-sized pool for swimming lessons and training, as well as a 10 × 15 m children’s pool.
The pedestrian and sunbathing areas were comprehensively renovated, while new landscaped and recreational areas with play facilities were introduced. On the southern side of the complex, a new entrance and service building was constructed on the site of the former technical building. It now serves as the main entrance and accommodates the associated service facilities.
The renovation has given the complex a contemporary architectural identity, a clearly organised functional layout, and improved conditions for sport, recreation, relaxation and social interaction.
