The house is situated on a slope, oriented towards the west and the city, in the immediate vicinity of the small Church of the Holy Cross on Hribec.

The floor plan, horizontal lines and volumes are longitudinally oriented, with the volumes stacked one above the other. The load-bearing volume, clad in stone, is cut into the existing slope. A second volume containing the bedrooms, finished in render, is placed on top of it and opens towards the west, framing views of the city. Above the rendered volume sits a floating roof, offset from the volume below. The investor was willing to construct a flat roof; we therefore simply placed a pitched roof above it, as required by the heritage protection authorities.

The service areas of the house—garage, boiler room and storage—are located on a lower level, separating them from the living areas on the ground floor. Inside, a gallery is carved out above the living room, making the interior volume of the house appear considerably larger due to the open staircase and the double-height space.
