The design of the house in Kranjska Gora is derived from its location within the settlement, the geometry of the plot, its orientation towards the cardinal directions, and the views of the surrounding landscape, particularly the peaks rising in the background. The house is also defined by its intended use, as it is primarily designed for occasional stays.

The programme of the house in Kranjska Gora is distributed across three levels: the main living spaces are located on the ground floor, the service areas in the basement, and the bedrooms on the upper floor.

The house is positioned along the northern edge of the plot, parallel to the road and aligned with the neighbouring houses, preserving the larger southern part of the site as an undeveloped garden. The ground-floor residential volume is covered by a 45-degree pitched roof, as stipulated by the planning regulations, matching the roof pitches of the neighbouring buildings.

The house is therefore conceived in a “classical” yet contemporary manner. The roof is treated as a clean, triangular prism floating above four load-bearing stone piers. Only roof windows are introduced into the roof plane, while the sides—the gable ends—are articulated as timber gables characteristic of the Upper Sava Valley. Here, however, this traditional element is abstracted into horizontal timber slats, allowing views from the interior while maintaining the character of the local architectural tradition.
