“Songs are in the air; I am merely the vessel …”

Upon entering the Atelier of Dreams, we enter the world of Đorđe Balašević. His songs are in the air; his concerts unfold across the large screen; the small auditorium screens the film Kao rani mraz; and the exhibition takes us along a timeline of his creative work and personal life. In the café, overlooking the large screen, we can enjoy a concert over a glass of Vojvodina tamjanika. For a more intimate encounter with his music, visitors can retreat into soft, secluded listening spaces and drift away into their own world. Yet wherever we move through the space, we remain accompanied by a digitised image of Đorđe Balašević projected onto the large screen.

Here, time seems to stand still, allowing us to encounter the great poet of the Pannonian plain. His legacy is one of masterfully crafted, timeless verses that generations across the former Yugoslavia, as well as those of today, have adopted as their own. The Atelier of Dreams offers an immersive experience engaging all the senses and evoking the emotions that Đorđe Balašević, through his songs, has forever inscribed within us.
